 List out the skills semester-wise related to each learning outcome of your trade-in NSQF level syllabus.

1. Plan and organize the work to make the job as per specification applying different types of basic fitting operations and Checking for dimensional accuracy.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

- Understanding of different types of basic fitting operations and their appropriate use

- Ability to use hand tools and machines for basic fitting operations

-Ability to check for dimensional accuracy using appropriate measuring instruments

- Observe safety procedures during the above operation as per standard norms and company guidelines.

2. Manufacture simple sheet metal items as per drawing and join them by soldering, brazing and riveting

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

- Understanding of different sheet metal forming techniques

- Ability to use sheet metal forming tools and machines

- Knowledge of different soldering, brazing, and riveting techniques and their appropriate use

3. Join metal components by riveting and observing standard procedures.

- Understanding of different types of rivets and their appropriate use

-Preparing and Marking according to the drawing

- Knowledge of standard procedures for riveting metal components

4. Join metal components by arc welding observing standard procedure.

- Understanding of different types of welding techniques and their appropriate use

5. Cut and join metal components with gas (oxy'-acetylene)

- Understanding of different types of gas cutting and welding techniques and their appropriate use

- Ability to use gas cutting and welding equipment and machines

- Knowledge of standard procedures for gas cutting and welding metal components

Semester:02

Learning Outcomes

1. Produce components by different operations and check accuracy using appropriate measuring instruments.

- Knowledge of different operations such as drilling, reaming, tapping, and dying

- Ability to use appropriate measuring instruments

- Knowledge and Understanding of different measuring instruments such as Vernier, Screw Gauge, and Micrometer

- Ability to use these instruments

2. Make different fits of components for assembling as per required tolerance observing the principle of interchangeability and checking for functionality.

- Knowledge of different types of fits such as sliding, angular, step fit, 'T' fit, square fit, and profile fit

- Ability to make different fits

- Knowledge and understanding of required tolerances and angular tolerances

- Ability to check for functionality of the assembled components

3. Produce components involving different operations on the lathe observing standard procedure and checking for accuracy.

- Knowledge of different operations on the lathe such as facing, plain turning, step turning, parting, chamfering, shoulder turn, grooving, knurling, boring, taper turning, and threading (external 'V' only)

- Ability to perform these operations by observing standard procedures

- Ability to check for accuracy

4. Plan & perform simple repairs, and overhauling of different machines and check for functionality.

- Knowledge and understanding of different machines such as drill machine, power saw, bench grinder, and lathe

- Ability to plan and perform simple repair and overhauling of these machines

  1. Make & assemble components of different mating surfaces as per required tolerance by different surface finishing operations and check functionality.

-Surface finishing operations - Scraping, Lapping, Honing

-Fastening components - Dowel pins, screws, bolts, keys, cotters

-Fastening tools - hand operated & power tools

-Tolerance - ±0.02mm, angular tolerance ± 10 min

  1. Make different gauges by using standard tools & equipment and check for specified accuracy.

-Gauge-making using standard tools & equipment

-Check for specified accuracy of ±0.02mm

  1. Apply a range of skills to execute pipe joints, dismantle and assemble valves & fittings with pipes and test for leakages.

-Pipe cutting, threading, flaring, bending and joining

Semester:04

  1. Make drill jig & produce components on drill machine by using jigs and check for correctness.

-Jig making

-Check for correctness

  1. Plan, dismantle, repair and assemble different damaged mechanical components used for power transmission.

-Identify different damaged mechanical components (Pulley, Gear, Keys, Jibs and Shafts)

-Dismantling, repairing and assembling components

  1. Identify, dismantle, replace and assemble different pneumatics and hydraulics components.

-Identify different pneumatics and hydraulics components (Compressor, Pressure Gauge, etc.)

  1. Plan & perform basic day-to-day preventive maintenance, repair and check functionality.
