POT Assignment for Lesson 8.5: Roles of Various Display Boards
State the types of display boards.
A display board is a board-shaped material that is rigid and strong enough to stand on its own, and generally used paper or other materials affixed to it. A display board may also be referred to as a poster board.
Types of display boards:
Folded display boards
A folded display board is a traditional tri-fold display board that is a single-sheet corrugated board divided into three panels by score marks. The two outside panels are half the width of the centre panel. These are generally placed on a table, and they are more stable and able to stand while still giving a theatre-like view. They can have header boards added to the top and an easel stand attached to the back.
Tablet interactive display board
A tablet interactive display board is an interactive display board made by attaching an electronic multimedia device such as a tablet to a display board. The purpose of tablet display boards is to hold the tablet at eye level on the display board to facilitate better communication between the audience and presenter.
Bulletin board
A bulletin board is also called a pin board or notice board, and the surface of the board is intended for the posting of public messages. Bulletin boards are used to display more or less on a semi-permanent basis in a prominent place, materials for supplementing learning experiences outside the class hours. These are particularly prevalent at universities and are used by many sports groups and extracurricular groups, and anything from local shops to official notices.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of bulletin boards?
